CASE STUDY:
Building Intergenerational Collaboration Across a U.S.–Mexico Multinational Bank
Background
With up to five generations working side by side, organizations have an unprecedented opportunity to strengthen knowledge sharing, innovation, and collaboration.
At the same time, differences in communication styles, technology preferences, and workplace expectations can create friction that impacts team effectiveness.
To maximize collaboration and business performance, this U.S.–Mexico multinational bank partnered with Reimagine Talent to build greater intergenerational and intercultural collaboration across its workforce.
The Business Need
As part of the firm’s strategic plan, a focus was put on boosting collaboration across functions, locations, cultures, and generations as a key business priority.
Employee feedback revealed that communication styles, work pace and urgency, technology use, and differing workplace expectations were creating barriers to effective teamwork and innovation.
Our Solution
Reimagine Talent designed and delivered the first phase of the bank’s intergenerational strategy by focusing on education. We engaged all 110 employees across the United States and Mexico through the following multi-step process:
Administering a pre-training assessment to identify collaboration challenges
Leading a thorough discovery process consisting of interviews with a multi-generational subset of the bank’s population
Designing a stakeholder-informed training design aligned with business priorities
Facilitating an interactive series of multi-site trainings focused on practical application
Creating a manager's implementation guide to support generational synergy on the team level
Deploying a post-training assessment to assess key learnings and areas of opportunity across the bank
Our Results
Participants gained practical strategies to strengthen communication, build trust across generations, and collaborate more effectively across teams and functions.
110 employees
participated in the training across two cities (Juarez, Mexico and San Antonio, Texas)
